It is amazing to think that it’s almost been a year since we have been working remotely . . . many of us have been trying our best to work in our homes or if you are an essential worker, I am personally grateful for the work you do, no matter what field! One of things that has been tough with 3 kiddos homeschooling on and off, 2 active doodles and with both Brian and I at home, is finding the space for all of us to be productive, without killing each other, LOL! My family maaaaaaay say I am a bit too loud when I get excited on the phone working! Ok, guilty!
Having said all that, I really wanted to create a functional space in my formal living room that frankly doesn’t get much love or use. I knew I wanted my own home office space, that was MINE and not in the dining room or kitchen island or bedroom - you know what I am talking about! So, here it is, my own desk wall that has these beautiful shelves that surround me with beautiful pieces I curated from many of my favorite local CT shops.
Each piece was selected with this space in mind. I wanted beautiful, coastal pieces that had hints of spring soon to come around the corner. In my design, you will always find natural elements integrated in each space, whether it’s greenery (succulents are easy and carefree, because I do not have a green thumb!) or a candle with an amazing scent to again, make you feel as if you are someplace else, even while you work!
Here is where to get the goods!
Basket, sand timer, frame and mini vases are all from Bunglaow Decor out of Westport, CT
Mini gray tray and hanging shells are from my friend Heidi’s shop Bel Mondo also in Westport but you can also shop online!!
The beautiful plants, preserved star pod and candle are from Terrain where you can also shop online!
My favorite U vase is from one of my favorite shops all the way in California but they have an amazing shop online and on Instagram - the gorgeous The Garage Collective
The Ocean Sand Art was given to me as a birthday gift last week by a close friend of mine who knows me very well! You can also find this great gift for someone or for yourself at Uncommon Goods.
The coolest driftwood whales are made locally in Fairfield, CT by The Dark & Stormy Drift Co. They also ship and will create custom signs made from local driftwood from Long Island Sound.
Surround yourself with happiness and beautiful things that make you smile. I hope this does for you just as much as it has for me. It’s the little things these days . . . XO Corry
